Methods for coloring concrete

Q. What is the most common method for coloring concrete, is it mixing the color in the ready mix truck or casting color on top of the wet mix? thanks

A. Mixing the color in the redi-mix truck is easier and not so messy. Broadcasting the color on top of the mix and working it into the surface usually gives you deeper, darker, richer color but can be messy to install.

Some colors like red look best if you use both applications together.

I like to use the mixing the color in the truck method whenever possible. This usually works best for most applications.
