Getting rid of protruding reinforcing fibers
by Gilles Lavoie

Q. What do I do to get rid of protruding fibers in my concrete floor before applying any sealers or any concrete finishes?
A. Although these will wear off in time, you can get rid of the protruding parts of the fibers by using a butane torch. I recommend asking someone who is experienced in using a torch. Lightly wave the torch over the fibers to singe them and they will go away.
