Step 1
Fill small bowl with moist sand, pack it, and then flip it over so it creates half a circle.
Step 2
Begin covering the sand with cement using a small concrete spatula until it is fully covered in one smooth, even layer.
Step 3
Using a small paint brush, smooth out any harsh lines.
Step 4
Using a cup and stencil, create an outline of a circle on top of the half circle and cut it out as an opening so you can see the sand underneath.
Step 5
Use more cement and begin making the elephants legs. Make sure to smooth the cement out with the spatula and brush so there are no harsh lines. The legs should look like 4 stumps.
Step 6
Use a bottle cap to plan out where you will cut out the cement on the top and then use a small blade to actually cut it, creating a nice pattern.
Step 7
After cement has dried up a bit, use a spatula to clean the legs up and get rid of any extra cement that isn’t needed.
Step 8
Using more cement, create the elephants head, trunk, and ears. Use the same process as creating everything else and make sure the cement is nice and smooth.
Step 9
After elephant is completely dry, put down a base of cement. Place the elephant on top and then get rid of all access cement around it so no cement is visible outside. This is creating the bottom of the elephant.
Step 10
Give the inside of the elephant a coating of cement.
Step 11
Use hot glue gun to put small buttons as eyes on the elephants.
Step 12
Put plant inside of elephant to complete your concrete elephant pot!
