Q. I am building a new home with ICF's and concrete slabs. How long do the slabs have to cure before they can be stained.
Also, should I cut the slabs into 10x10 sections for crack control.
A. Most Acid Stain manufactures recommend you wait 30 days before staining the concrete floor.
Saw cutting the concrete floor into 10' x 10' sections would be a good idea and should control most of the cracking. It's important the depth of the saw cut is 1/4 the thickness of the concrete slab.
Using a Soff-Cut saw to saw your contraction joints the same day will improve controlling any random shrinkage cracking also.
